New BMI = 44.64

Reached the 15% removed milestone this morning.  It’s a drop in the bucket given that I need to remove 53% of my starting weight in order to get into the “normal” BMI range, but it’s something.

It’s more than I’ve had before, and it’s an improvement.  I’m wearing clothes I haven’t fit into in years, and some I bought online that I’ve never been able to wear before.  My knee hardly ever hurts anymore, I feel stronger, and it’s nice to know I have made positive progress in at least one aspect of my life.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That is a tremendous achievement!

I recently started one of the “cookie” diets (supervised by doc) and have quickly found I can not STAND the “cookies” – which means I eat even less. I’m down almost 10 lbs – only 90 more to go. Don’t remember latest BMI, but I started well over 56. I steal glances in the mirror to see if it ‘shows’ yet, and try to convince myself that my tummy doesn’t look AS pregnant as Chick’s anymore (of course she is getting larger as her due date appears) and also that my face doesn’t have as many puffy droops. I think I’m self-delusional, but it does motivate me to keep up with the fight.

BEST to you, and thank you for your encouraging words on my posts. It means so very much.

    • Thanks. I can use all the encouragement I can get! 😮

I wish I only had 90 left to go… I can’t believe it crept up so far over the years.

I’m convinced there’s a place for a healthy dose of self-delusion, now and then. 🙂

Hang in there. I’ve been checking on your posts. You’ve been going through a bunch of really traumatic things all at the same time, and after an enormous amount of stress built up because of holding your tongue at your previous job. (I had a similar situation once, and I’m convinced the most serious damage to me was the result of holding in all the truths I couldn’t spill out as they occurred.)

Hugs out to all 4 of you (including the one that is INSIDE), and hang in there. Don’t let the inner demons bite. Send them back to their cells with their forky tails between their legs and tell them to shut up and let you function.

  2. Great Accomplishment!
I especially like the part about your knee hardly ever hurting.

  3. Wonderful! And soon we can go for long walks on the beach.

    • Erm, well, I’m not sure about the long walks – although I’ve got to the point that usual activities don’t hurt, arthritis is irreversible (as is the original injury that led to it) and I’m not sure if I’ll *ever* be able to do long walks without pain, even at a normal BMI. 😦

I just had a conversation about that with Rose, the other day.
