That’s more like it!

I bought my third tank of gas today. 338.5 miles, on 8.249 gallons = 41.03mpg

OK, maybe the Honda engineers HAVE been doing their job over the past 17 years, after all.

And that’s with the windows down most of the time, causing turbulence.

Take THAT, you gas-guzzling SUVs!

Heh, Heh.

  1. So we will take your car Friday?
I think Noel needs a cat. A large cat that can fight back.

  2. Of course we can take the new, improved, Genomemobile on the Hosta Expedition!

I’ll bring some large plastic bags so we can bag anything we bring home, to keep the dirt out of the back.

I’m not sure about this, but I think I recall that Noel may be allergic to cats. In which case even a small, and sedentary one could fight back immunologically, assuming it sheds sufficiently.

He was actually referring to those videos online showing cats asking to be spanked. It’s bizarre, and well-worth a trip to the Groton Library to see: https://origamifreak.wordpress.com/2008/05/15/um-has-anyone-tried-this

  3. Very nice. 🙂 Congratulations. . . but I still think I’m going to hold out for the Clarity to make its way to the east coast. . . 😉

  4. It’s a nice idea, but having to drive 200 miles to Albany to get hydrogen might be a pain.

…Especially when the estimated tank range is only 280!

I think I like your idea of a Tesla, better. 🙂

  5. Glad to see the mileage numbers. I have been doing the mega milers stuff and am now up to 29 mpg. Not bad for a liberty. Going to town is a 3 mile down cruze. Louie would be proud!

  6. Rose, I can’t find a “mega milers” site online. The only references to “mega milers” I see have to do with people who have long commutes, not high mpg.

Are you possibly referring to hypermiling? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypermiler

Do be aware that coasting out of gear is illegal in most places, and possibly dangerous where you are, since it’s such a long downhill, your car is heavy, and the ambient temperature is quite high. Please make sure your brakes are well-maintained and don’t overheat. I like having my sister alive.
